This piece is still a WIP (Work In Progress). This is one my favorite pieces because it was a challenge for me to create and taking hours to complete.  I have a few minor details to work on then it will be complete.

Materials include: acrylic and ink mixture, color pencils, watercolor pencils, and clear gel mixture.  I used the clear gel mixture on the mouth and ears of the zebra to create a more textured effect.

The gel mixture allows the paint and ink to form a transparent look which turned out pretty nice. The title of this piece is called "Starburst".  It measures 12 x 16 and was created on canvas.  The medium is mixed media.

This piece of artwork was a work in progress. This piece of artwork was created for Stephano's Art Gallery Holiday Show. The theme is "Going Green for the Holidays." The artwork was created by using recycled and refurbished material. This materials for this piece includes: recycled wood, nylon fabric, canvas, and paper.

I layered the canvas with recycled paper and sealed it using a gel medium.  I then mounted a 4 x 4 canvas onto the 9 x 12 canvas to give it a 3D effect.  I  added a piece of wood shaped like a dragon fly to the 4 x 4 canvas.  Then, I added recycled wood chips at the top and on the left side of the canvas.

According to Merriam-Webster online dictionary, the word rubbish means: things that are no longer useful or wanted and that have been thrown out,  words or ideas that are foolish or not true,  something that is worthless, of poor quality, unimportant.

Rubbish can appear to be useless, but with a little hard work it can be turned into something beautiful and very valuable. Sometimes people may have tried to make you feel like rubbish (worthless or unimportant) which is the farthest thing from the truth. In fact, you are very valuable with hidden treasures and untapped potential on the inside of you. You have to learn how to see the value in what everyone else may say is no longer useful or foolish.

You may have been told that your ideas or dreams were foolish, but dust them off and work towards pursuing them again. You may have created artwork, designs, music, or products that were labeled of low quality and worth, but it's time REBUILD THE RUBBISH! It's time to pull your CREATIVITY out of the heap of despair and dormancy. Be determined RE-CREATE, RE-DESIGN, AND RE-BUILD your ideas, concepts, and dreams until they become a REALITY in your life. ~ Angela R. Green

At some point in life, we have all experienced closed doors. This could be devastating at first, but sometimes closed doors can open up opportunities that were not available to you before. If you experience rejection when submitting a manuscript, a song, or a piece of artwork, then don't allow that closed door to stop you.

If you are a writer, continue to write.  If you have the ability to sing, then continue to do so. If you draw or paint, continue to do so because one day an opportunity will open up for your work to be to be discovered.  It is very easy to quit when doors are closed in your face, but it takes tenacity to continue to press forward until the right opportunity opens up for you.

If you have a dream in you heart that looks impossible to come true, then don't stop dreaming. This is only a test of your endurance to see if you will hold on to your dream or let it go. During this time, surround yourself with other Dreamers and not Doubters.

Doubters will only feed your weakness, but Dreamers will feed you strengths. Doubters will tell you what you can't do, but Dreamers will believe in you and dream with you. Doubters will hope your dreams never come true, but Dreamers will help you to make your dreams come true.

Determine which one your are surrounding yourself with today. If it is Doubters, then separate yourself from them so that you dreams can live and not die.

Imagination is the fuel used to spark a plethora of creativity in your life. Imagination can be described as having the ability to come up with images in your mind that is not real or to be able to come up with new ideas. Learn to recognize the new ideas that were birthed from your imagination.  It may be different from others, but don't be afraid to use them.  It could just be the missing piece that will cause you to connect and stand before great men. ~ Angela R.
